PINELLAS COUNTY – Family fun dominates the scene this weekend with Easter egg hunts planned all around Pinellas.

Easter bunny coming to town

Municipalities, service organizations and churches throughout the area are hopping as they get ready for their annual tributes to the Easter Bunny. Thousands of eggs will be rolling into area parks for children participating in this weekend’s hunts.

For a listing of Easter events, including special religious services, visit the Community Calendar.

Out and About

The family fun continues at the 22nd Annual Heritage Village Antique Car Show Saturday, March 22, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in Largo. More than 100 original or restored antique automobiles and vintage motorcycles will be on display throughout the 21-acre Heritage Village landscape with more than 25 historic structures.

A trip down memory lane is in store for those who travel to St. Petersburg for the Baby Boomer Antiques & Collectibles Show at the Coliseum on Saturday, March 22, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This show and sale of vintage "Boomerabilia" from the 40s, 50s and 60s celebrates the Boomer era (those born between 1946 through 1964).

Pet lovers might want to check out the Bay Area Renaissance Festival at MOSI on March 22-23, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Events are scheduled each day and include: Animal CPR demonstrations, pet costume contests, obedience training, talent competitions, veterinarians on site and rescue groups.

Pets get in free this weekend and guests can pick up $4 off coupons at Bay Area PETCOs.

On Easter Sunday at the Bay Area Renaissance Festival will start with a sunrise ceremony and free breakfast for guests at 9:30 a.m. Four Easter egg hunts are scheduled in the children’s realm free to all the wee ones at the show. Check out www.renaissancefest.com for more details.

Music and Concerts

After last weekend’s full slate of musical shows, this weekend seems a bit quiet. But no one likes to compete with the Easter bunny! Plenty of action is on tap at local clubs and restaurants. For more information, visit the Live Music Calendar.

Stage and Theater

This weekend is the last chance to see Monty Python’s "Spamalot” at Ruth Eckerd Hall, 1111 McMullen Booth Road. Performances are Friday and Saturday, 8 p.m., and Sunday, 7 p.m. with matinees on Saturday and Sunday, 2 p.m.

The curtain comes down one last time on Sunday afternoon for the upbeat musical, “Sweet Charity,” at The Francis Wilson Playhouse, 302 Seminole St, Clearwater, Show times are Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m.

For more theater action this weekend, visit the Stage & Theater page.
