Gesneriad Society meeting
TAMPA – The Tampa Bay Gesneriad Society will meet Saturday, Aug. 16, 10 a.m., at the offices of Dr. Martinez, 402 W. Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Thad Scaggs will give a presentation on sinningias. The public is invited. Call 447-2898.
Landscaping series
LARGO – The Florida-Friendly Landscaping Series will offer a Concepts of Landscape Design class on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 6:30 to 9 p.m., at Pinellas County Extension, 12520 Ulmerton Road.
Classes will continue on Tuesdays, Sept. 9 and 23. Tuition is $15 a class. To register, call 582-2673.
Horticulture industry workshop
LARGO – The workshop Surviving Difficult Times in the Green Industry will be offered Wednesday, Aug. 20, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Pinellas County Extension, 12520 Ulmerton Road. Space is limited, and there is no charge for this workshop. To register, call 582-2131 or e-mail dmcclend@co.pinellas.fl.us.
Rain barrel workshop
