Locked door results in arrest
Article published on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008
TREASURE ISLAND – A Treasure Island man was arrested Aug. 11 on three outstanding warrants from Hillsborough County and transported to the Pinellas County Jail.

Lawrence J. Mikowski, 67, called police when he arrived home about 12:56 a.m. and the front door to his residence was locked. Mikowski, who police said was highly intoxicated, said he generally never locks his door and blamed a neighbor for locking the door and hiding a key that he normally leaves in another location.

Officer Phillip Bock located the key and opened the door. Bock ran a routine computer check on Mikowski and discovered the warrants related to a past DUI.
