Construction to begin soon on new $11 million Holiday Inn
Article published on Wednesday, April 16, 2008
LARGO – BayStar Hotel Group will build the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites, called Largo Central Park, with a groundbreaking tentatively slated for sometime this month.

The $11 million hotel will be located at 206 Seminole Blvd. It will be five stories with 95 rooms, 36 of them suites.

BayStar Hotel Group will own and operate the roughly 65,000-square-foot hotel. Plans include a dividable meeting room to seat up to 100 people and a state-of-the-art executive board room. Room rates are expected to range from $95 to $145 per night.

BayStar Hotel Group recently developed the nearby Hampton Inn & Suites – Largo Central Park at 100 E. Bay Drive.

“We love the energy of the downtown area,” said George Glover, chairman of BayStar Hotel Group and former chairman of the Largo/Mid County Chamber of Commerce. “Largo has a rapidly growing business community with a strong regional medical component, and the city’s economic development plan for the Central Business Development will continue to provide good business travel clientele.”

Glover said the new hotel’s proximity to Largo Central Park, one of the finest in-town nature areas in Florida, restaurants, shops and the Largo Cultural Center draws leisure guests.

“We have the potential to attract large groups on weekends,” Glover said.

The new facility will offer a breakfast bar, an outdoor pool, fitness center, and free high-speed Internet access.

The facility will be pet friendly.

Tampa-based BayStar Hotel Group is a privately held hotel company that develops, acquires, operates and/or sells hotels in the southeastern United States.
