Woman claims assault LARGO – A homeless woman on April 5 told police someone broke her fingers because she was begging on a corner claimed by someone else.
The 51-year-old victim, who was not identified, told Officer C.R. Wilson that she was panhandling at Ulmerton Road and Seminole Boulevard at about 3 p.m. when a homeless man began yelling at her for taking his spot. Police said the man allegedly grabbed the victim’s fingers of her left hand and broke them. One man was questioned, but not arrested due to the lack of witnesses.
Man arrested on drug charges LARGO – A Clearwater man was jailed on April 2 on alleged drug charges and resisting arrest. Bruce H. Pack, 25, is charged with possession of crack cocaine and marijuana, loitering and prowling and resisting arrest without violence. He was released from the Pinellas County Jail after posting $1,550 bail. Police said Pack was arrested at about 1:45 a.m. following an investigation. No details were available.
City woman is arrested LARGO – A city woman on April 2 was arrested after a traffic stop. Charged with driving on a suspended or revoked license is Melissa Ann Broden, 30. Officer C.M. Markel was performing random vehicle checks in the 1400 block of Clearwater-Largo Road at abut 7:15 p.m. when he pulled over Broden’s vehicle. The suspect, police said, admitted to knowing that her license was suspended. She was arrested on the spot.
