Article published on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008
PINELLAS PARK – Two Pinellas Park men were injured in the Jan. 9 accident on Interstate 4.

Gary Warner, 39, was driving a straight box truck that was heavily damaged in the accident. He remains in serious condition.

A passenger, Fred Moore, 37, also of Pinellas Park, suffered minor injuries.

A Clearwater man, Michael Singleton, 50, was driving a straight box truck and suffered burns.

About 70 cars and trucks were involved in the accident near Lakeland when fog and heavy smoke from a controlled burn blanketed I-4, seriously reducing visibility.

Police said 38 people were injured, some seriously, and five people were killed.
