City police Wolf Pack writes 71 tickets

PINELLAS PARK – The police department’s special operations unit recently issued 71 citations during its latest high visibility saturation Wolf Pack detail.

The packs, composed of police officers and other personnel, is a citywide effort to educate motorists on traffic safety and to get dangerous drivers off the road. Officer J. McNeil said of the 71 citations written, three were for driving with a suspended or revoked license and two motorists were caught for driving without a license. There also were two arrests for driving under the influence.

Other violations included five for running red lights, two for stop sign violations, eight for not wearing seatbelts and two child safety seat violations. There were 10 non-moving violations issued, seven other moving violations and two careless driving summonses.

The unit also worked one accident and recovered one stolen license plate.
