Man robbed outside store PINELLAS PARK – A man was robbed of his wallet on June 19 as he was entering a store from a parking lot. The victim, who was not identified, was not injured.
Sgt. Gene LaPouttre said the victim was in the parking lot of the H&R train store, 6901 U.S. 19, at about 4:25 p.m. when the robber demanded his wallet. Police said the suspect indicated that he had a gun. He took the victim’s wallet that contained credit cards and other personal items and escaped on foot. Police described the robber as a black male, 30 to 40 years old, 220 pounds and wearing a black hooded sweat shirt and black jeans.
Tampa man arrested for DUI PINELLAS PARK – A Tampa man was arrested on June 20 after he crashed a pickup truck into a tree and fled the scene on foot. Wilbert Collins, 31, was charged with DUI, driving on a suspended or revoked license with knowledge, and leaving the scene of an accident with injuries. He remains in the Pinellas County Jail in lieu of $4,250 bail.
The passenger and owner of the truck, Tamara L. Wall, 48, a teacher, also of Tampa, was treated at Northside Hospital in Lealman, for arm and chest pains.
Police said Collins was driving Wall’s 1987 Nissan pickup truck at about 5:45 p.m. when he lost control and crashed into a tree in the 7400 block of 35th Street. Police said Collins ran into a nearby housing complex where he was spotted by officers with a large amount of blood on his chest, face and feet. He was treated at Northside Hospital and released .
Two arrested after altercation PINELLAS PARK – Two St. Petersburg men were arrested on June 20 after they allegedly assaulted several people in a parking lot.
Gary W. Winters, 24, was charged with battery and two counts of possessing medical drugs without a prescription. He was released from the Pinellas County Jail after posting $650 bail.
Kyle C. Delong, 23, was charged with battery, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, felony simple battery, felony battery, two counts of possessing marijuana and possession of clonazepene. He remains in the county jail in lieu of $26,150 bail.
Police said the two became involved in an altercation with several other individuals at Shoppes at Park Place Mall on U.S. 19 at about 2:40 a.m. Several people were injured during the disturbance.
An investigation continues.
No license means an arrest PINELLAS PARK – A St. Petersburg man was arrested on June 21 for allegedly not having a drivers’ license. Mauricio A. Pablopulos, 37, was charged with driving on a suspended or revoked license. He was released from the Pinellas County Jail after posting $250 bail.
Police said Pablopulos was stopped for running a stop sign at 126th Avenue and U.S. 19 at about 11:50 p.m. A further check revealed that he did not have a valid drivers’ license.
