Woman arrested after accident PINELLAS PARK – A St. Petersburg woman was arrested on July 28 after she allegedly fled the scene of an accident.
Shayna Lynn McClelland, 22, is charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving on a suspended or revoked license. She was released from the Pinellas County Jail after posting $4,250 bail. Police said McClelland was driving her 1988 Toyota when she rear-ended a truck at 118th Avenue and 49th Street that was being driven by John Barnes, 22, of Pinellas Park. Police said the suspect then fled the scene and was later apprehended in the 12000 block of 31st Court.
Man nabbed as habitual offender PINELLAS PARK – A city man was arrested on July 25 for driving on a suspended or revoked license ... for the seventh time.
Joseph C. Stuck, 36, was charged with being a habitual traffic offender and not having a motorcycle endorsement. He was released from the Pinellas County Jail after posting $5,150 bail. Police said Stuck has six prior convictions for driving on a suspended or revoked license. Police said Stuck was operating a motorcycle in the 10000 block of 66th Street at about 12:45 a.m. when he made an improper left turn. Stuck allegedly told Officer Eric Shroeder that he was driving illegally because he had to get to work.
Man arrested for theft PINELLAS PARK – A Kenneth City man was arrested on July 24 after he allegedly tried to steal items from a parked car. Michael J. Adams, 31, was charged with burglary of a vehicle. He was released from the Pinellas County Jail after posting bond. Police said the suspect was allegedly caught rifling through a parked car at Davis Field, 6050 78th Ave.
Two nabbed in retail theft PINELLAS PARK – Two people were arrested on July 25 for retail theft after they allegedly tried to steal more than $300 worth of merchandise. Elizabeth Belcher, 52, and Kevin Dexter, 19, both of St. Petersburg are charged with retail theft. They were released from the Pinellas County Jail after posting $5,000 bail.
Their relationship was not immediately known. Police said the pair attempted to leave the Wal-Mart Super Store on U.S. 19 with $309 worth of food and other items.
