Man attempts to rob pharmacy PINELLAS PARK – A man who claimed to have a gun on Aug. 10 got cold feet while attempting to rob a pharmacy and fled.
Pinellas Park Polce Lt. Paul Andrews said the man walked into the CVS Pharmacy at 7101 Park Blvd. at about 4 p.m. and demanded specific narcotics while implying that he had a firearm.
Police said the suspect had a bulge in the shape of a firearm under his shirt. As the pharmacist was getting the narcotics the suspect fled the store. A canine unit attempted to track the suspect with negative results.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 20's, approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a medium build. He was wearing a white baseball cap with a Yankee’s emblem, a gray T-shirt over a white T-shirt, dark jeans and black boots. He wore a yellow bracelet on his right wrist.
Woman is arrested PINELLAS PARK – A Pinellas Park woman was arrested on Aug. 3 for possession of drugs following a traffic stop. Michelle Higgins, 39, was charged with possession of a controlled substance. She was released from the Pinellas County Jail. Higgins also was charged with driving a car with a cracked windshield and illegal window tinting and with being unable to show proof of insurance. Police said Higgins was driving in the 6500 block at 78th Avenue at about 9 a.m. when she was stopped for a traffic violation. A subsequent search resulted in the discovery of illegal pills, police said.
Man jailed for filing report PINELLAS PARK – A Pinellas Park man was arrested Aug. 1 after he allegedly filed a false police report. Pearlee E. Newcomb, 21, was charged with filing a false police report and providing drugs to juveniles. He remains in the Pinellas County Jail in lieu of $5,250 bail. Police said Newcomb reported that he was robbed by two men of his cell phone and wallet. The items, police said, were actually discovered in his apartment. He allegedly provided drugs to two juveniles who live in his building.
Man arrested for theft PINELLAS PARK – A St. Petersburg man was arrested after he allegedly attempted to walk out of a store wearing stolen shoes. Nathaniel C. Klimczak, 23, was charged with resisting a merchant and retail theft. He was released from the Pinellas County Jail. Police said Klimczak was at the Wal-Mart Super Store on U.S. 19 when he placed his old shoes in a box and allegedly attempted to walk out with new ones on his feet. The suspect later resisted store security officers, police said.
