Arrest made in Winn-Dixie heist

SEMINOLE – A Seminole man was arrested and charged with armed robbery Aug. 2 after he walked out of a local Winn-Dixie supermarket with a case of beer.
Brian Daniel Harper, 26, was arrested by Pinellas Park police under the Marchman Act after he robbed the Winn-Dixie store at 12975 Park Blvd.
According to a Pinellas County Sheriff’s report, at about 10:40 p.m. Harper walked into the Winn-Dixie store picked up a case of beer and came to the check-out lane. The clerk requested identification and Harper pulled out a Florida Department of Corrections ID. As the cashier was ringing up the sale, Harper pulled up his shirt to display the butt of a gun and demanded cash.
The cashier said he couldn’t open the cash register and an argument between the two started. Harper later left the store in frustration with the beer.
Store officials called the sheriff’s office to report the theft. The cashier was able to give deputies the robber’s identification at about which time deputies learned the suspect had been arrested by Pinellas Park police.
